The client approached us with an idea of developing a unique gamified customer loyalty platform. Unlike typical loyalty programs and discount coupons where the bonus is predefined, the app’s unique idea was to give customers a chance to win up to 100% of cash back right after the purchase.

As there were lots of new ideas worth being developed, we’ve started off with carefully analyzing the ways to implement them and tackle upcoming challenges.

Project goals

  • Deliver a full-cycle product development Being responsible for the actionable results, Relevant Software team has provided innovative product concepts on a daily basis.
  • Satisfy 2 customer categories As there were business customers (retailers) on one side, and regular consumers on the other, we wanted to create a well-thought-out experience for both user segments.
  • Create the gamified user experience Retaining consumers for retail businesses was one of the top product priorities for us. The most competitive product feature is winning a certain percentage of cash back. The users wouldn’t know what the outcome was until they spin the wheel in the app.
  • Give up to 100% cash back This was a great idea that aimed at winning lots of new customers and getting repeat ones on a constant basis. However, on the other hand, we also had to account for reasonable profitability for different types of retailers: supermarkets, specialty stores, restaurants, and other retail outlets.

Challenges

With a customer loyalty approach in mind we aimed to technically utilize new ideas and solutions quickly and with utmost quality.

Firstly, we establish a viable algorithm of processing a vast number of cash-back transactions via the app for the Spindy platform for optimal fees. After a meticulous analysis and negotiations with banks by our BA team we opted for Union Bank with optimal fees and best conditions.
