When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. 2022: A Year In Review

Relevant was founded in 2014, and we’ve come a long way since then to establish our presence in Europe, the UK, and the US. Although our team is distributed across different countries and continents, we all share the same values and are sincerely proud of the company’s Ukrainian origin.

For the past nine years, we’ve been designing and building innovative products, platforms, and digital experiences for companies of all sizes and industries. We help our clients accelerate the transition to a digital future by combining human-centric design, end-to-end engineering, and data expertise. Our team is passionate about creating solutions that not only meet but exceed the expectations of our clients.

200+ companies from 25 countries outsourced software development to Relevant

We provide companies with senior tech talent and product development expertise to build world-class software. Let's talk about how we can help you.

Before we embark on new undertakings into 2023, let’s take a moment to take stock of our effort in 2022. It’s fair to say that despite the challenges, it has become a year of achievements and victories that we can be proud of.

Ensuring business continuity

2022 promised to be an outstanding year for Relevant. We opened a new office in Poland and received many customer requests. We were looking forward to a year of productive work to expand international initiatives and increase our global presence. But after the russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24, we had to learn how to work in the new reality.

Those were tough times that demanded maximum concentration from us. After all, we had to ensure the safety of all our employees and continue to fulfill our project obligations. Following the best business continuity practices, we formed a dedicated internal crisis management team consisting of top managers and critical specialists. They created a business continuity plan that helped us keep the business going and growing in any force majeure circumstances.

A forward-thinking approach and consistent implementation of security and BCP strategies have enabled our company to weather the crisis while ensuring flawless service and the safety of our staff. We helped employees from the eastern and central parts of the country (Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa) move to Lviv or other safe locations in the far west of Ukraine.

Our clients place a great deal of trust in our company to develop and maintain their business-critical systems. We take this responsibility very seriously, which is why we have implemented various measures to ensure that our services remain uninterrupted and operational even in the face of emergencies.

We have equipped our offices with everything necessary so that our teams can continue to work seamlessly, no matter the circumstance. We ensured our business continuity from a technical point of view by providing an uninterrupted power supply and high-speed Internet connection. We understand the importance of continuity for our clients, and we will always go above and beyond to safeguard it.

Mastering technologies

We understand the importance of staying ahead of the curve in today’s fast-paced digital landscape and work tirelessly to deliver superior services that help our clients thrive. Whether it’s developing a cutting-edge mobile app, developing a SaaS platform, or creating a robust BI reporting platform, we’re dedicated to helping our clients achieve their business goals with confidence and ease.

That’s why Relevant has dedicated 2022 to discovering new technologies and trends and using them to create better products for our customers. It has been a year of deepening the knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning, blockchain technology, cloud technologies, DevOps, and infrastructure as code for our engineering teams. In today’s rapidly changing market, we are continually adapting and transforming ourselves in real-time to align with market demand.

Helping more businesses to thrive

First, on behalf of the entire Relevant team, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our amazing clients for choosing us as their technological partner. The trust and confidence that you have placed in us are truly invaluable, and we are incredibly honored to have the opportunity to work with you.

We understand that choosing a technology partner is a big decision, and we want you to know that we take your trust in us very seriously. We value your ongoing support and are dedicated to delivering high-quality services that exceed your expectations.

In 2022, we continued to work with our existing clients and found 17 new ones (including innovative startups and Fortune 500 companies). We have worked tirelessly on different projects for construction, retail, finance, and transportation to ensure that our solutions were modern and attractive to users. We rebuilt applications from scratch, developed new functionality, implemented advanced technologies in their projects, created MVPs, and provided expert-level technical consultations.

Here are a few examples of our successful partnerships over the past year.

Norwegian

The airline company hired us to migrate two native mobile apps (iOS and Android) to React Native to reap the framework’s benefits, such as better platform user experience, straightforward updates, native-like feels and looks, and performance improvements. Migration to React Native has allowed Norwegian to reduce the number of engineers working on Android and iOS app development, resulting in cost savings and less hassle of managing two separate teams.

Client’s feedback

“Excellent job by our super tech team! Cooperation with the Relevant Software team resulted from a synergy of amazing ideas, clear objectives, agility, and high professionalism demonstrated by every person who contributed to the success of the Travel Assistant app.”

Svenn

Svenn is a project management SaaS software designed to collaborate and track engineering operations. We developed the time management platform and iOS and Android applications to help Svenn to capture a unique market niche and attract thousands of new customers from 45 countries. Since 2016, we’ve supported the project codebase and added new features with every major release.

Client’s feedback

“We chose Relevant Software because they understood our business needs. They are very clear in communication and execute the projects with the same quality as if they were their own. They also come up with ideas and improvements to ensure the solution is as good as possible. Give them the really challenging tasks that everyone else is struggling with, and they will get them done.”

Scriversi

Our cooperation began with API integrations POC and ended up with the full-cycle development. A cloud-based documentation tool allows users to create their accounts, invite people, and easily manage permissions and edits without separating sensitive data into separate documents. The solution developed by Relevant paved the way for the continued growth of the Scriversi product.

Client’s feedback

“Our decision to work with Relevant was based on their understanding of our industry, the depth of their technical capabilities, and a real commitment to building a true partnership model. We believe the Relevant team is ready to go the extra mile to help us achieve our goals and expand our business globally.”

Superface.ai

Superface.ai hired us to help them test the possibility of writing one API for multiple payment platforms. We had a lot of practical experience with third-party integrations, so Superface.ai decided to cooperate with our company. We validated the Superface concept by creating a demo and testing its market viability. Our team wrote several use cases for payment systems (Stripe, Paypal). Moreover, we implemented use cases for determining the location using the IP address.

Client’s feedback

“We are impressed with how Relevant handled the entire process. The way the company communicates and its pragmatic approach to problem-solving are remarkable. Their extensive experience, professionalism, and impeccable communication have led to our fruitful cooperation.”

FISK

We partnered with Fisk to build a financial app with built-in security and compliance with industry standards for their promising startup. We developed an MVP for their app and all the needed functionality to optimize the service industry’s tipping process and help users make investments easier.

Client’s feedback

“It was a fascinating experience collaborating with seasoned project managers and business analysts. They looked at the original idea and all the pivots and consolidated them into a functioning MVP within our budget and timeline.”

Our Roadshows

In 2022, Relevant Software took part in four amazing Roadshows worldwide. The first roadshow was TechBBQ in Copenhagen on September 14-15. The event covered the entire IT industry ecosystem, and many emerging companies were invited to share success stories.

The next Roadshow was TechEx Events in Amsterdam. Unlike TechBBQ, they have attracted giant companies that have been on the market for a long time. More than 5,000 senior technologists discussed the latest innovations within AI & Big Data, Blockchain, Cyber Security, and IoT ecosystems.

The third stop was SaaStock in Dublin. This is a large-scale, highly-specialized conference. The organizers managed to stay within the main topic – SaaS. It was the perfect environment for our team to grow and build valuable connections.

Last but not least — FinTech Connect in London. This event is held within the framework of the IT Export Alliance project, which is implemented by the “IT Ukraine Association,” with the support of the State Institution “Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office,” the National Business Project “Diia,” the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine (USAID CEP) and the Ukrainian Embassy in the UK.

Our participation in industry events and roadshows has played a significant role in expanding our client base, securing new contracts, and fostering valuable connections with industry peers. This has been a highly enriching experience for our team, and we look forward to continuing our involvement in these types of events in 2023.

CSR activities

In addition to maintaining the continuity of our services, our company also places a strong emphasis on giving back to the community. One of the ways we do this is by supporting the Ukrainian army and also providing aid to organizations and shelters that assist refugees.

During the year, we actively helped our country and people to stay strong and donated around 2 million hryvnias to volunteer and charitable initiatives. We bought drones, batteries, laptops, and other things our defenders needed, and we will continue to do so this year. Moreover, we realized that we are not alone on this path. Our clients and friends worldwide didn’t stand aside and helped and continue to help Ukraine survive and win. We are immensely grateful to them for their support!
